Common Use
Micatin is primarily used to treat superficial fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It helps relieve itching, burning, scaling, and discomfort caused by these conditions. The cream or spray is meant for skin use only and not for scalp or nails.

Dosage and Direction
Clean and thoroughly dry the affected skin before application. Apply a thin layer of Micatin cream or spray to the affected area twice daily (morning and evening) or as directed by a healthcare provider. Continue treatment for the full course — typically 2–4 weeks, even if symptoms improve earlier.

Precautions
Micatin is for external use only; do not apply to broken skin or open wounds. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Keep the affected area clean and dry to enhance treatment effectiveness.

Contraindications
Do not use Micatin if you are allergic to miconazole nitrate or any of the other ingredients in the product. It is not recommended for children under 2 years of age unless directed by a doctor. Do not use it for fungal infections of the scalp or nails.

Possible Side Effects
Common side effects may include localized irritation such as redness, itching, burning, or mild stinging at the application site. Rarely, more severe skin reactions or allergic responses can occur. If irritation persists or worsens, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Drug Interaction
Micatin is a topical medication with minimal systemic absorption, so significant drug interactions are unlikely. However, tell your healthcare provider about any other topical products you use concurrently. Avoid applying other medicated creams or ointments to the same area unless advised by a clinician.

Missed Dose
If you miss an application, apply Micatin as soon as you remember. Do not double the amount just to catch up. Continue with your regular twice‑daily schedule. (General topical medication guidance)

Overdose
An overdose of Micatin is unlikely with topical use. Inadvertent ingestion or excessive application may cause irritation or more serious symptoms, so seek medical advice if accidental swallowing occurs. Discontinue use and contact a healthcare provider if severe reactions develop.

Storage
Store Micatin cream or spray at room temperature (15–30 °C / 59–86 °F), away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep it tightly closed and out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use it past the expiration date
